Now days students and their guardians not only want knowledge oriented teaching but also job-oriented teaching to fetch lucrative jobs. Patna College mainly consists of Arts students who prepare for the BPSC, UPSC, MBA, Banking and Railways related jobs after getting Bachelors degrees. As Patna College has dominance in faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences, it also comprises Science faculties like Mathematics and Statistics. The knowledge and experience of faculty members are now utilized in Vocational Courses to make students more confident in getting better jobs. So, in addition to traditional courses like B.A. (Honours), the College has started the first Vocational course namely the three years Honours Level Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) programme from November, 2005. This programme has touched the new heights of academic excellence under the proper guidance and leadership of the Course-Coordinator and the Director-cum-Principal.
In keeping with the objectives of New Education Policy i.e. making the younger generation self-reliant and technically competent to face the challenges of the modern world, a few more popular vocational degree courses such as B.A. (Honours) in Computer Applications and B.A. (Honours) in Mass Communication have started in Patna College with the permission of Patna University from the academic session 2007- 2008. A placement cell has started functioning in the College which helps the interested and sincere students to get lucrative jobs in companies like IBM, Wipro, Infosys, Del, TCS. etc.
